LevelK at BFI London Film Festival
We are very excited to have three films selected for BFI London Film Festival.
Our TIFF Discovery dramady THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS is selected for the Sutherland Award competition and will have its International premiere.
In this Canadian English language title we follow Azra, a Pakistani woman living in Toronto, being worlds apart from her conservative Muslim mother. When her father suddenly dies on a trip home to Pakistan, Azra finds herself on a Bollywood-inspired journey through memories, both real and imagined, from her mother’s youth in Karachi to her own coming- of-age in rural Canada.
Along side this is our existential redemption drama SHAME ON DRY LAND, which will world premiere in the TIFF Platform competition, will have its European premiere in the THRILL section at BFI London FF.
This Swedish drama takes place in the shade of Malta’s scorching sun, around the edges of the Swedish online gaming community, where exiled lottery swindler Dimman shows up for his former best friend and business partner’s lavish wedding, kicking off a desperate and decadent pursuit of redemption.
And lastly our heartwarming family title DANCING QUEEN which is selected for the family section.
In this Norwegian family film Mina gets her world turned upside down when the famous dancer ED Win moves to her town. She falls head over heels in love, and when he invites everyone to an audition for his new dance crew, Mina sees her chance and signs up. Intoxicated by love she throws herself into the excitement. But there is one essential thing she has forgotten: She can't dance!
